Manor has been working closely with the museum ship HMS Trincomalee to develop educational resources for schools visiting the attraction.
Staff from all curriculum areas have visited the ship to generate ideas for lessons designed to exploit the vessel's potential as an 'outdoor classroom'. Last Christmas, Manor's Senior Choir performed carols in the captain's cabin during the attraction's annual Christmas celebrations.
The choir was invited back in April for a visit from HRH The Duke of Kent to recognise the Trincomalee Trust for raising awareness of the educational possibilities of the ship.
The Duke listened to the choir and met Manor students who had taken a break from their Easter holiday to take part in Maths, Science and Art on the Trincomalee
