Y9 - Y11 Science

Year 9,10 and 11

All students are following the AQA exam board qualification. A number of groups are studying the separate sciences but most students are on the combined science Trilogy course. This results in 2 GCSE grades for combined classes and 3 grades for Separates. All examinations take place at the end of year 11 with the option of taking them at higher or foundation tier. Students studying this specification will be awarded grades on the new 9 -1 scale.

The sections of the courses are outlined below. These are taught as discrete units but will be combined in 6 one hour 15 minute exams (1hr 45 for separate scientists). There is no marked course work but there are a set of statutory practical investigations that must be carried out over the course and will be included in the questions in the final exams.
