The qualifications have been developed with the aim of progressing students into further education and/or employment and are available for use with pre and post 16 students: They give students the opportunity to:
- Develop their own personal growth and engagement in, and through, learning
- Engage in learning to that is relevant to them and support their development of personal skills and attributes that are essential for working life and employment.
- Prepare themselves for progression into further education programmes, apprenticeships or other work based learning.
- Develop their English and mathematics skills.
Units studied and a brief description of their content
Career Planning, Community Project, Customer Service, Interpersonal and Self Management Skills, Managing My Money, Participating in Sport, Planning for Personal Development, Practising Leadership Skills with Others, Preparing for a Healthy, Active Lifestyle, Presentation Skills, Supporting Others in the Community, Teamwork, Undertaking an Enterprise Project and Work experience.
Each unit is assessed by an internal and external verifier; this gives students the opportunity to improve their work before it is sent to the Prince's Trust head office for a final assessment. This subject has no formal exam.
