1. ‘Freedom of Information and School Publication Scheme’

The Freedom of Information Act 2000 gives members of the public the right to access official information held by Public Authorities.

2. Data Protection

The Data Protection Act 1998 regulates the processing of information, relating to individuals including the obtaining, holding, use or disclosure of such information.

The Act places a legal responsibility on the Academy to ensure that data collected and processed receives the highest level of protection. The Act also provides individuals who are the subject of personal data (data subjects) with certain rights to ensure that data held is accurate and up to date.

If you wish to make a subject access request to find out what information is held about you please send a request in writing using the contact details set out below. Manor Community Academy is under a statutory duty to comply with your request within 40 calendar days.

A £10 statutory fee will apply to all Subject Access Requests.

All CCTV cameras around the Academy are detailed with the following privacy notice :-

This site is monitored by CCTV.

Images/videos of pupils and/or staff will only be taken, stored and used for Academy purposes in line with Academy policy and not be distributed outside the Academy network without the permission of the Principal. (Extract from Manor Community Academy ICT AUP Policy).

Whilst my child is a student at Manor Community Academy I will allow him/her to be photographed as part of any Academy production, event, trip or activity. I am aware that photographs may be used in Academy publications and on the Academy Website.

Data Protection Act 1998: The Academy is registered under the Data Protection Act for holding personal data. The Academy has a duty to protect this information and to keep it up to date and is required to share some of the data with the Local Authority, Connexions and the DfE.
