Participating in the decision making
Parents and young people are involved in discussions and decisions about their individual support and provision. We acknowledge and draw on parents' knowledge and expertise in relation to their own child. Children are encouraged to take an increasingly active role in their review cycle, in line with their readiness to do so. Parents are informed as their child is registered on the Code of Practice and are involved in all stages of this process. All Parents are actively encouraged to be involved in their children's education.
Our parent/carer group this is an informal opportunity for you to discuss your child with Mrs O'Neil, learning support assistant within the SEND team. Questions may arise about your child's needs and the level of support that is required for your child to make relevant progress. We hope that together we can alleviate concerns and work together to ensure your child gets the best education they can. Appointments are available every Tuesday morning between 9:00am and 11:00am.
Areas we can help with:
- If you have any concerns regarding your child.
- Help you understand what is happening during any assessment of your child's needs.
- Help you complete booklets for your child's Review.
- Offer general support for your child.
